Walton County in person Test Session

W5YI-VEC Amateur Radio License exam will be held at the Walton County EOC 75 S Davis Ln, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435.

• Test time is 7pm and the fee is $14.00, Exact change prefered. You may pre-pay with Venmo @W4CJB or Cash-App $W4CJB. If you Pre-Pay please indicate your full Name and FRN in the message.
• You will need to obtain your FRN before the test day. https://apps.fcc.gov/coresWeb/publicHome.do
• Be prepared to show your photo ID.
• Upgrading? Please bring a signed copy of your existing license.

During the current Government shutdown you will NOT be able to register for an FRN. Follow these instructions to register for the exam.

Temporary Testing Procedure Without an FRN:

Given the current situation, VEC's will temporarily allow testing without an FRN (FCC Registration Number), with the understanding that:

1. The applicant would take the exam and receive a CSCE (Certificate of Successful Completion of Examination).

2. Once CORES resumes issuing new registrations, the applicant would:

Register for an FRN. Contact the coordinating VEC with their FRN. The VEC will submit their application to the FCC.

In the ExamTools system candidates without an FRN should:

1. Use '0000000000' (ten zeros), then select "continue anyway".

2. Complete the session registration.

CSCEs will be issued to successful candidates.

Your application will be put on hold until you provide W5YI with an FRN from the FCC. You will be responsible for providing this to W5YI-VEC using the frn@w5yi-vec.org email. You must provide your CSCE and your email address must match the one used on the 605 application.
